Can I use YouTube videos in my lessons and course material on Blackboard?

Answer

Yes, you can use YouTube videos in Blackboard. This can be done in two ways:

  • You can either find the Share Link for the video and copy paste it into a document or onto Blackboard. (Do not make copies)
  • Ask the library to add the link to the relevant library subject guide.

You are also welcome to stream videos in class for students under section 28 (if they are legitimate and not pirated videos), just do not make copies of them. Also consider Creative Commons (CC) videos which can be searched for on YouTube using the search filters.
