How do I avoid Copyright infringement when using images from a recommended textbook for instructional PowerPoint slides?
Answer
When a decision has been made to use images from a particular textbook on an ongoing basis, it is important to obtain permission from the publisher/supplier before using the content.
Publishers and/or suppliers need to be contacted in writing, ensuring they are informed how the material will be used. (e.g. the images will be used in an instructional PowerPoint slide for students.)
If permission is not given, seek an alternative or substitute with Creative Commons images.
